comedy, on Thursday.
Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter Are Kind Vampires on the Prowl
Alicia Silverstone and costar Krysten Ritter were together in NYC yesterday working on their new film Vamps. Amy Heckerling, who worked with Alicia on Clueless, is directing the comedic spin on the vampire craze — are you still interested in seeing films on the topic? The role of a blood-seeking creature is an interesting choice for Alicia, who's known for her vegan diet and lifestyle.

'Vamps' Stars Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter See the Light Of Day
We may be sick of the old love song — You know, “Girl meets boy, girl finds out boy is part of the walking undead and craves her blood, boy redeems himself by proving vampires can hold feelings in their cold hearts,” blah blah blah — but that doesn’t mean we’re bored with vampire stories in general. We’re actually psyched for Vamps, which pairs Clueless director Amy Heckerling with her former star Alicia Silverstone and Gilmore Girl’s Krysten Ritter. And looking at these newly released stills from the set on Vamps – about how hard it is to be a female vampire on the dating scene – this movie will turn the dark brooding bloodsucking dude mythology on its head.

One way to revive a lack-luster career…? BECOME A VAMPIRE!
Don’t get me wrong, I love Alicia Silverstone. She pretty much changed my 5-year-old outlook on life as Cher Horowitz in Clueless. But between Broadway stints and small supporting roles, she is becoming better known for her vegan lifestyle than her acting chops.
All of this may soon change with her new film, the soon to be released Vamps. Alicia will star alongside Krysten Ritter as a vampire living it up in New York City. Sigourney Weaver is set play the vampire queen, known to be quite the seductress, and Malcolm McDowell will play ‘Vlad the Impaler’. The cast also includes Dan Stevens, Justin Kirk, Marilu Henner, and Zak Orth, and the film will be directed by Amy Heckerling, who just so happened to write and direct Clueless! Check out these pictures of Vamps filming on location in New York City this past Thursday. The pictures of Alicia wearing that flirty purple dress with lace gloves totally brings me back to her fashionista Clueless days!

What can you tell us about 'Vamps'?
Well, 'Vamps' is just the most delicious goofy comedy about two young, beautiful vampires who are trying to [go] straight and not drink blood, who unfortunately work for a very unrepentant vampire: me. [My character has] huge appetites, none of them very attractive, and is not at all interested in being a reformed vampire. I had a fabulous time playing it. I had wonderful clothes, gorgeous hair and makeup; and she's deliciously herself. It was fun. It was like being in a Chris Durang play. It was really just outrageous. I had a great time working with Amy [Heckerling], Krysten [Ritter], Alicia [Silverstone] and Wally Shawn. It was just a wonderful ensemble, a delicious movie.
